I quickly get bored by any kind of repetitiveness and/or overly obvious routines, which cause very draining surges of annoyance, anger, and anxiety. So, after having been a good girl and walked at least 30-45 minutes every day after work for the past couple of months, I decided I needed a break from walking. Fortunately, I remembered from my gardening days several years back that an hour of yardwork gives you a whole-body workout - for free!
The past three days, I've been digging up something that, according to my hairdresser, are Southern Blue Flags but are far less pretty than Iris virginia and not fragrant. I have no clue what the hell they are, but they are growing in big fat clumps all over my yard, and I'm not having it. So I've been weeding away vigorously, with the result that I've had sore muscles in places I didn't remember I even had muscles, and the yard now looks as if the Budweiser Clydesdales have stampeded across it - but I have eliminated about one third of the pesky mound-shaped, thick-rhyzomed, blue-flowering pests. Hah!
