Unfortunately, the guy I bought it from used on eBay didn't include the security code - which I didn't realize until I had already installed the thing. Now I need to pry it out of its slot again to get to the serial number (which he needs to obtain the code *sighs*). Let's hope that I can get the removal keys out of the old radio! I'd hate to have to buy another set of those for another $20.

The compressor in my 1999 Beetle gave out last year. At just about 72,000 miles, it was a little early to bite the dust, but this car has had so much wrong with it since I bought it used in 2002 that another major problem didn't surprise me too much. Since I had just spent a couple hundred bucks on the car, I didn't have the money to get it fixed and decided I would have to could live without AC.

Dammit!

I just had $800 worth of work done on my 99 VW Beetle's brakes - now the compressor's a goner. That means I have no AC, and let me tell you: that's not a pleasant experience when you live in the Florida panhandle where temperatures reach the upper 80s/lower 90s easily and the humidity is 100% this time of the year!
